Michael Vaughn-Kennedy

Sheldon

This is Michael’s first time performing at Rivertown Theater and first performance after 10 years. Credits include Phantom, The King and I, Lil’ Abner, The Fantasticks, Annie, The Odd Couple, The Boys Next Door, Guys and Dolls, Hello Dolly and many more. He appeared as a guest artist in ballets (believe it or not) such as The Nutcracker, Alice in Wonderland and Romeo and Juliet with the Atlanta Ballet Company. His last performance took place in Chicago in the lead role of Andrew Lord Webber’s Whistle Down the Wind.  For nine years, he worked for Herschend Family Entertainment. First as a performer and then began writing and directing shows for their Atlanta theme park. Michael was promoted to the position of Managing Director and Producer of Entertainment and would often travel to their Tennessee property, Dollywood to discuss guest experience and show quality. Michael’s directing credits include Oliver, School House Rock, Fiddler on the Roof, Footloose, Kiss Me Kate and Gypsy to name a few. From 1999 to 2001, he wrote, produced, and directed the Atlanta Gospel Music Choice Awards. He has served as host and judge for cabarets, pageants, talent showcases and corporate events in and around the Atlanta and Chicago areas. Michael wishes to thank Michelle for covering his daytime responsibilities, which allowed for the time to do the show, and his husband Ross for always believing in him.  To the cast, crew and the theater management, thank you for this opportunity. I could not have picked a better theater family for my first performance back on the stage. I hope this is the first of many more.
