David Hoover

Feldzieg

David, by day, is a professor in the department of Film and Theatre at the University of New Orleans.  Some of his favorite Rivertown shows include 1776 (Ben Franklin), The Will Roger’s Follies (Clem Rogers), Spamalot (Sir Bedevere), The Music Man (Mayor Shinn) and most recently, Elf (Santa Claus). As a director, he has directed John Goodman, Eli Wallach, Anne Jackson, Alec Baldwin, and Stephanie Zimbalist in performances for the Tennessee Williams’ New Orleans Literary Festival where he serves as a board member. David received an Artist Fellowship award from the Louisiana Division of the Arts; the first award of its kind made to a director and has received UNO’s coveted Career Achievement Award for Excellence in Research presented by the Alumni Association. David is a proud 610 Stomper. He has written and directed the Holiday Spectacular for the Stompers and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra on two separate occasions. Enjoy the show!
