KIDS’ OLIVER & JUNIE B AUDITION INFO
 

OLIVER Auditions

WHO: kids roles including Oliver, Fagin's Gang, Workhouse Kids, Townskids

 

Seeking to cast boys and girls with strong work ethic, professional behavior and performance abilities, per the following:

• Workhouse kids - Singers & movers, no taller than 5'3, age 8 to 14 in appearance with soprano vocal range (boys should have unchanged voices.) Girls will be cast in boys roles. 

• Fagin's Gang - Same as above, but must be good dancers also. Ideally looking for males for the “gang.”
(Townskids can be taller than 5’3)
• Oliver - Male singer and dancer age 8 to 13 in appearance. Soprano (unchanged voice.) No taller than 5'3.

• Artful Dodger - THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST

WHERE: Encore Studio, 1999 Hickory Ave, Harahan
 

WHAT TO PREPARE:  Oliver singers will audition in groups by singing a short cut from "Food, Glorious, Food" together, then individually. To help prepare, the cut and track is provided here


If also auditioning for Junie B, you will sing both “Food, Glorious Food” and your chosen musical theatre song (32 bar cut). An accompanist will be provided.
 

WHAT TO BRING: Headshot (or photo), resume and additional sheet music from a musical theater song in his/her key showing range in case asked to sing more than "Food, Glorious Food." (Please be prepared to cut song to best 16 bars.)
Headshot / Photo will not be returned.
 

If you do not have a resume, there will be a spot on the audition form to list theatrical experience and training.
 

Oliver runs January 10-26. There will be rehearsals during the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s school break. However we will take time off for the holidays. Exact schedule TBD
Please do not audition if you will be out of town for any portion of the rehearsal or performance dates. An info sheet for both shows will be provided at the audition.

JUNIE B JONES: SURVIVAL GUIDE TO SCHOOL AUDITIONS

After two sold out runs for our previous Junie B shows, we are excited to present the third title in the Junie B, The Musical series. We have invited our previous cast members to reprise their roles, however some are unavailable. We are looking to double cast all roles and include an ensemble. Please see breakdown below.

WHO:  performers entering 6th grade & up for a variety of roles.
 

Seeking to cast boys and girls with strong work ethic, professional behavior and performance abilities, per the following:

• May, Sheldon, Mr. Scary, Gladys Gutzman, Herb, Lucille, Junie B’s mom, Junie B’s Dad, Junie B’s Grandpa

• School kids - seeking approx 4 ensemble members

• Junie B -  THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST (both Junie’s are returning)

 

WHEN: Thursday, August 22 & Friday, August 23

If you do not have a resume, there will be a spot on the audition form to list theatrical experience and training.
 

Junie B runs October 4-13. Rehearsals are on Fri-Sun only so that students can continue to train and take classes in the performing arts. Weekday rehearsals only during tech week.
We perform two daytime field trip shows for schools. If double cast, you will only need to perform on one field trip day.
Field trip performances: Wed, Oct 9 and Thurs Oct, 10.

An info sheet for both shows will be provided at the audition.
